What are you most proud of? I like the name - I printed a font I liked in HUGE letters [blew them up about font size 400!] on writing pad paper, pinned the paper on the quilt, and FMQ-traced over the lettering in white Isacord thread which practically became invisible on the fabric. All you saw was the puffy name outlined. Then I went around the name with a tiny loopy-line meander in a contrasting thread. I'm getting better at controlling my hand movements when FMQ'ing!! The Strip portion is just quilted with a large meander with flowers, hearts and stars thrown in randomly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Okay, whoever stated that you can sew the strips together in 35 minutes lied, lied, lied, and then lied some more! Yes, it was easy to put together, but it definitely took way more than 35 minutes. Choose a fabric collection you are drawn to, and just like the tutorials say [I saw about 6 of them just to make sure I knew what I was doing], piece the strips randomly and the final result will always be beautiful. I'm thinking of doing the strip race again in a boy's/male's color way... maybe shades of black, white, blue and gray? This was a lot of fun to work on, and does come together faster than a "regularly" pieced top.

Beautiful quilt. I like your quilting. I really like the way "Briana" just pops right out but yet it does not distract from the beauty of the main body of the quilt.

Thank you. I do like to personalize the quilts with the recipients' names. I just think it adds a little special touch.

Thanks... you can't go wrong with pink and purple for a 7 year old girl. :-) :-) The quilting is always a work in progress - practice, practice, practice! lol

Thanks. It was a Christmas gift, and the mom states that little Miss Briana loves her quilt. You can't go wrong with pink and soft purples for a little girl!
