I love this combination too. For those who have asked, you can purchase a velvaboard at www.junetailor.com Not too expensive and great for pressing anpped or embellished fabrics. Hope the tip helps.

Amazing and clever combination. Did you find dealing with the bulk troublesome? I'm thinking of using something more "substantial" for this dress too. Nicely done!

Thank you! Actually, working with velvet was a little fuzzy at the beginning, but in the end I figured out that all you need to succeed is just a bit of patience and a lot of time to baste everything.

Wow great idea using wool for bodice and courage using velvet on skirt. How was it to work and press velvet? Beautiful results.
