Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual

Materials

Kaffe Fassett Millefiori and Parasoles

What was your inspiration?

I like bold colors and I love Kaffe fabrics

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is an extremely easy block, only caution I would give is, the first and second cut are on the diagonal which means there is give in the fabric, you must be careful not to stretch your piece as you sew. The instructor did not use pins, I think pins for a beginner might help avoid the stretching. Quick and fun otherwise.

I love the way you have used the fabric in the background to give the pattern a circular effect, but not. If you know what I mean. Just georgous!! It looks like it is moving. Silvana.

I love batiks Starwood. I think they would be beautiful in a block like this.

My sister and I are doing this quilt too, and we are both using batiks, though different ones. It will be interesting to see how different these quilts look finished.

Thanks you sewingal! I'm having fun with this. I am teaching a class for beginner quilters starting this Friday and I thought it might be a good idea to take a beginning quilting class to make sure I'm not leaving anything out. I love the freedom that these blocks provide.
