Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

I used batiks and fabric that I tie-dyed myself on the back. The blocks were quilted as I went.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod, Casual

What was your inspiration?

My daughter loves pink and green so I used these colors on the back.

What are you most proud of?

That it is finished.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are new to free motion quilting, quilting block by block was a much easier way to learn and practice.

This quilt just makes me smile. I'm just learning to free-motion quilt. Did you know how to free-motion quilt before you started this project?

Your quilt is wonderful. I am going to do my second quilt from last year as a quilt as you go.

I'm interested in how you do the block by block technique. I would love to include a back on my quilt as beautiful as yours, is the block by block method more conducive to a more beautiful back?

Your daughter is one lucky girl. I especially like the stripe fabric to your dresdan block(I think that is the name), the stripes create a very dimentional look that I love. And it's reversible. The back is simply awesome.
