Black 1950's style pin up corset

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Vintage French 1950's Style PinUp Corset »

Instructions

If you're not used to work with inches like me, mesure the pattern before choosing a size and do make your muslin.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Cute, Retro / Vintage, Romantic, Classic

Materials

Materials I used are black lace with a little strech, pink ribbon, elastic for finishing the edges, boning and a hook and eye tape (well, only the eye part of the tape ;D)

What was your inspiration?

I had the fabric for a few years in my stash, so when I got the pattern it somehow all came together.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of the finished edges and how the elastic fits perfectly with the lace

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make your muslin before cutting your real fabric :)

Did you stretch the edging elastic when you sewed the edges or did you just let it feed evenly with the lace?

I strech the elastic for a bit, when I did the edges. It fits a bit better that way, and it's still comfortable to wear. :)
