This bag was made using medium weight Red Heart yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. The bag was lined with 100% cotton fabric and a zipper was attached to the top of the purse for a closure. The flower appliqu? was made with medium weight Red Heart yarn using a flower loom.

What was your inspiration?

I designed this purse myself. It is based on a purse that I saw on the FutureGirl.com website. I purchased a flower loom and the flower appliqu? on the purse was the first one I made with the loom.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of how the lining turned out. It was the second clutch purse that I had lined and it ended up looking really great. I also love the flower appliqu?. It looks quite retro. I was so glad to be able to get my hands on a flower loom!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

In terms of crocheting the bag, it is very important to make sure that the tension on your stitches is not too loose or too tight. This is especially important with the handle strap. As you are crocheting, make sure that you try the handle out for size as you are making it. This will save you from having to undo and redo the handle later on. It is also a good idea to practice making the flowers if you have a flower loom. Different yarns work differently and will give you varying effects, based on the weight of the yarn. Try different yarns and different loom sizes to see what you like the best.
