Bearded Beanie

Pattern Info

Instructions

The way I crochet the hat sizes ran too big so I either started using a hook size smaller or the size smaller. Overall this project is pretty easy as the writer explains everything in great detail. I love the result!

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Costume

For: Boys

Style: Funky

Materials

Worsted weight yarn. Double stranded for the hat and single for the beard. I like to use Bernat Soft.

What was your inspiration?

I had a friend ask me if I made these for sale. I didn't at the time so I purchased the pattern from one of my "go-to" writers, Boomer Beanies. After making the ones for my friend's nephews I'm now making them for my own littles...and selling in my shop!

What are you most proud of?

How much people love them! Including my kiddos.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I found that the sizes ran large. If the hat starts to look too big, do a check so you don't finish and end up with the wrong size. Try a look smaller if you run larger than needed.
