I used one bottle of beads and less than a ball of thread. I don't remember the size of the thread but I used a size 7 hook.
It will stretch some as you wear it the first couple of time, so keep that in mind as you do the first row.
String the beads onto the thread using a needle before you start to crochet. I used 90 beads but some had a hole that was too small to thread so I had less than 10 that did not get strung.
Row 1, Make your beginning loop and *chain 5. Chain one above the first bead to lock it into place, ch1* repeat beginning at the * 17 times. Ch4 and turn. This is the first dc.
Row 2, One dc in each of the next 4 ch. *Ch 1, ch1 above the next bead*, 5 times, ch1. Repeat pattern to the end of the row.
Row 3 - repeat first row.
Row 4, repeat first row but do not add beads in the chain, I used 5 large chains between dc. You may want to use 10 tight dc stitches.
Row 5. repeat last row.
Row 6 and 7 - repeat row 2.
Pull thread through the final loop, cut and hide the end in the stitches.
You can make this as wide and long as you would like. The sample I saw was at least 10 rows with beads in every row. I wasn't sure how many beads would be needed so I opted to put rows in without the beads when I knew how far the beads would go.

What was your inspiration?
I saw a similar scarf at a department store and decided to try it myself. I modified it but am very happy with how it turned out.
What are you most proud of?
Just figuring out how to add the beads. I knew they were too small to put a crochet hook through so the only other way was to thread them first.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Remember that it will stretch some after you begin wearing it so don't think it will be too short after the first row. It is plenty long to tie in front as an adornment.
