All my patterns evolve as I go along. Nothing is truly planned and my starting point is never what I end up with. I like to see what happens if I do this or try that.

I have developed my pattern writing to a level that is both visually pleasing as well as easy to read and understand

Read through the pattern first and look at the detailed drawing before starting
