What was your inspiration?

My sister-in-law found this pattern online and asked me to make her one in a very bright green. Then I made her daughter one in candy apple red and my daughter-in-law liked the pattern and wanted one in grey - this is for her. It's easy and a nice size for curling up with a book. Should measure about 46" x 47" but mine was a tad longer than that.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The directions suggest that before adding on the edging, you block the blanket and put a wet sheet on it and let that dry. I did not do this for the first two because I had never done it before and wasn't sure about what it would do. After reading a little about felting I thought maybe this was kind of that only in a minor way. So I tried it (had to clean off 1/2 the ping pong talbe) and though I could have made it wetter it did seem to help it hold its shape more.

I changed out the pictures of this afghan as the first ones posted were too flat and did not show the dimensional quality of this stitch. These give a better sense of the pattern. I liked it better in more vibrant colors.
