What was your inspiration?
I wanted a lacy hat that was not super slouchy but didn't fit right up against my head. That way, when I would wear it I didn't get hat hair. I found this stitch and I loved how the center decrease on the lace pattern was a straight line and not a typical k3tog where the stitches tend to lean more than stay straight. So, I played around with decreases and this is what I came up with! I simply LOVE It!
What are you most proud of?
I love the decreases and how they don't break pattern so drastically but they flow into the crown of the hat.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I always tell people to make sure they do a gauge swatch but also BLOCK that swatch! Lace opens up and if you make your unblocked swatch to a gauge that is given after blocking you will end up with a hat that is HUGE!
