Ivory peau de soie (from remnants left over from wedding dress), machine embroidered squares with babyish animals. borders of eqch square machine embroidered. Sashing made from green silk. Backing for quilt was a soft pink flannel.
What was your inspiration?
My brand new great-granddaughter. She was actually 2 by the time I got the quilt finished.
What are you most proud of?
It's finished and lookin' good. The detail was excruciating but the quilt will be an heirloom.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have lots of time on your plate to give to this project. The machine embroidery takes a LOT of time.
