What are you most proud of? The detail work...I think the fabric patches and embroidered nose and mouth really make this bear pop, and make it "more than your average bear"

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Gauge is not really important...if the bear is a little bigger or smaller than the pattern calls for, no one will know the difference. It worked up quickly, and was made over the course of a weekend. A great shower gift, birthday gift, or "just because I love you: gift, that can be made in any colour using any yarn.

I highly recommend the pattern book "Knitted Toy Tales, Irrestistible Characters for all Ages" By Laura Long if you like to knit toys. All the patterns are suitable for novice knitters, and the fine details to all of the finished products give them a very special, polished look, making them stand apart from similar project patterns.
