Aviary Quilt

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Machine Quilting: Free-Motion & More »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Materials

Joel Dewberry's Aviary 2 collection fabric.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make something colourful for my Mother-In-Law.

What are you most proud of?

It was my first quilt so I'm pretty proud of the whole thing!

I'm especially surprised I managed to do it all without a walking foot and it looks fine.
The way Wendy shows in the class of doing the binding all by machine was such a moment of relief because I'd been dreading having to hand-stitch the binding.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's been said a billion times before, but you really don't know what you're capable of until you try.

Thanks so much! And yes, the colour palette is what drew me to the fabric. All my favourites. :D
