Instructions

this pattern's vest is unlined, but i like my vests lined, so that's what i did

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Girls

Style: Funky, Cute, Whimsical, Traditional, Classic, Casual

Materials

pantweight cotton, cotton lining fabric, grosgrain ribbon, thread

What was your inspiration?

i always make each of the girls' a new outfit for the start of school, this is outfit #2, still 2 grand daughters left to go!! they're big enough to request patterns now, which can be a challenge! 1st time for this vest, the skirt i've probably made a couple dozen times!

What are you most proud of?

that i got the vest lined, because of the peplum, i needed to line it completely , then go back and iron, then stitch the armholes down- happy it turned out so well

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

dont be afraid to change something in a standard pattern, i happen to like vests lined, i think they lay better, especially one like this, which is curvy, just take your time and think it through!

Wonderful little outfit. Really like the fact that you lined the vest, they just fit so much better. Really like the fabrics you used. Most of all, Ava looks perfect in her new outfit. Thank you for sharing.
