Autumn Shades

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Beyond Basic Machine Quilting »

Instructions

Stars are from Eleanor Burns "Orion Star" book.
The flowers idea are from an old magazine, sorry I can"t remember which one. I pretty much did my own thing. Thanks to Craftsy and Jan Petersen"s classes I took the plunge and machines quilted it. Her other class" Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine was just what I needed to learn. She is an excellent teacher.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual

Materials

100% cotton fabric front and back, 80/20 batting(Warm and Natural).

What was your inspiration?

Jan Petersen's courses Beyond Basic Machine Quilting and Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine. Jan is a wonderful teacher. She really convinced me that I could machine quilt my own quilts with pretty designs and without messing up the quilt top. Her lessons on preparing for each step are what leads to success. This quilt top sat around for 2 years. I wanted to quilt it but lacked confidence, It was in three pieces so Ann's instructions for the 2nd course I took
worked like a charm.

What are you most proud of?

I did it !!!! Now I will not be having quilt tops hanging around and will be saving money.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

PRACTICE LOTS AND DO NOT GET IMPATIENT WITH YOURSELF!

beautiful, looks like you did a nice job with the quilting too. Was this all from scraps in your stash?
