My only issue is that the cuffs are SOOOO short-- just barely covers the palm of my hand before the thumb gusset is knitted. I'd want the cuff MUCH longer, but have no idea how to make that happen without messing up the design.....

I love your color choices! The braid looks great and your tension looks good. To make the cuff longer, you could add a plain row before and after the braid. If you want to add a few more rows, you could take the small + motif and add a set of those - three rows, then a plain row and start the pattern.

Oh wow, it looks short! I like long cuffs. Warm wrists :) Maybe we could change the design a bit by adding our own cuff design and then going into the given design on the body of the mitten? I haven't started these yet so I should keep quiet, but since I can see what you are talking about, I want to make sure it's fixed before I start. Thank you for pointing it out!

It turns out that the thumb gusset thing that we knit in this one lengthens it somehow, It's still shorter than I like, but it defnitely covers more than the palm of my hand! I tried one with 3 repeats of the braided cuff--it was REALLY pretty and the reverse side was amazing-- looked like weaving. BUT having 3 in a row made the cuffs roll! 2 would have been better! Also considering doing a turned cuff, then the braid, and then follow the rest of the pattern, but that might be busy. Anyway, I frogged it not because of that, but because the contrast color yarn wasn't working out very well.... It was long color changes, and unfortunately, one of the colors was almost exactly the same color as the background! Shoot! Heh!
