Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Girls

Style: Retro / Vintage, Hipster, Whimsical

What was your inspiration?

I'm making a really girly, eclectic, whimsical quilt for my 5yo niece. She loves pink, and red, and all things very romantic. I also want it to stay a bit modern, so to give it MY personality too. ;)

What are you most proud of?

Quilting again! And using the tutorials to do it "sorta' properly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I NEED TO BUY A ROTARY BLADE AND CUTTING BOARD. I feel like my double-stars blocks are a bit wonky because the cutting is complicated, and too much for scissors only... :S

edit: I did buy so supplies. And it works so much better!!

I wanted to get a large cutting board, and a medium rotary blade with safety guard. (i use the cutting board for my work too! Cutting prints)

(OOPs, auto-reply when pressing space bar.. ) Everywhere I looked, those two tools where around 50$ for both. A bit more a bit less. So I decided to buy it from a small shop, instead of big store. I bought it in VankleekHill Ontatrio, Canada. (I live in Laval, Qubec, but my in-laws are there.) She also recommended I buy a quilting ruller. Those three tools are the basic cutting tools. It works awesome, was worth the 70$ or so it costs me total. I'll be using this everytime I sew. :)
