What was your inspiration?

I adore vintage scrappy quilts.

What are you most proud of?

That I hand sewed the hexis and hand appliqued.....and ENJOYED it! I didn't think I would. Now I planing to do much more paper piecing and applique work. Who knew!?!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just try it. It's fun!

Hey Jean. I've been sidetracked with having to empty out my commercial building to get it ready for the new occupants. I hadn't expected to lease it so quickly. I've also had some sewing to do for my kiddos. Just finished the second pair of sleep shorts for my youngest daughter. now I have to sew a dress for my middle daughter to wear to a wedding mid-June. I was just commenting to my husband, today, that I still have to sew my May blocks. They're coming....just not very quickly.

Well, all that blank space was really bugging me....so I added 5 smaller hexis that are tumbling down next to the stripe. It doesn't detract from the original spirit of the block, yet fills in some of the empty space. I like it much better now.

I like it! And I agree with you abour all that blank space. Hard to imagine how it would fit into a quilt...

I'm still not sure if I like all that blank space. May fill it in a bit more. Haven't decided.
