5. Dec all 3 sts together, finish off.
Fold the cap in half and center the ear flap to make the one on the other side. I fold it in half to make it even.
Repeat for the ear flap on the other side.
Using Hot Pink single crochet around the edge of cap placing 3 sc in each earflap point. Finish off.
\Ear (Make 2)
1. Ch 10
2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (9 sc) Chain 1 and turn
3. Sc 1st 2 stitches together (dec made), sc in remaining stitches (8 sc) Ch 1 turn
4. Dec in first 2 sts, sc in remaining sts. (7) Ch 1 turn
5. Dec in first 2 sts, sc in remaining sts. (6) Ch 1 turn
6. Dec in first 2 sts, sc in remaining sts. (5) Ch 1 turn
7. Dec in first 2 sts, sc in remaining sts. (4) Ch 1 turn
8. Dec in first 2 sts, sc in remaining sts. (3) Ch 2 turn
9. Dec in all 3 sts. (1) Do not turn
10. Sc evenly all around with 3 sc in each corner. When you get back to the top of the ear, slip stitch down the side and finish off in the bottom corner.
I use a needle and yarn to sew on the ears. I lay the cap out flat with the face up and sew the ears on starting at the 3rd row of dc. Just use your judgement as for placement.
Nose & Eyes
Chain 3. 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 5 sc in the first chain made, and then 2 more in the end chain. Finish off leaving a tail for sewing. I look at a picture for placement of the eyes and nose. Try to sew them so there is no white showing through where you put your stitches. (I sew the circle closed)
The “laugh lines” are just a string of yarn sewn in and out where I feel they should be. I knot each end.
Cut eight 36” lengths of each color for braid. Loop 4 lengths of each color through the ear flap point and braid. Tie a know in the end and cut the strands to even it up.
I sure hope this is helpful. I am not very good at writing patterns.
