What are you most proud of? I actually completed this project and I didn't even lose motivation halfway through. I also completely love it and I think that I will wear it often. If you want to know some more details I've written a blogpost about making this garment: http://wp.me/p3RIIN-4g

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Follow Natalie Chanin's Craftsy class, it is really helpful to see her actually do things.

An absolutely elegant jacket! I was really interested to read that you used the Guetterman thread- heavy duty.. Did you use that for the embellishments that are shown here; if so the stitches looks fabulous. I comment because Guetterman thread is all I can source readily here in Germany (not surprising!) and I've been wondering how it compares to the button craft thread Natalie recomends. I made a jersey jacket with Guetterman's thicker Top Stitch thread but am concerned it might not be strong enough in the long run. Nice work! Becky

Thank you! For the embellishments I used embroidery floss because I used the backstitch. Had I chosen to use the running stitch I would have used the Gttermann thread. In this cardigan I used the Gttermann thread for the construction, the flat felled seams and the attachment of the ribbing. I thought it worked really well. I can't really tell how it compares to the button craft thread though because I've never used it, it's not available in the Netherlands either. So far it's holding up and the seams feel very strong. For my next project I intend to use this thread again.

Emmely thank you so much for telling me more about your construction with the Guettermann thread- very helpful. May I ask where have you sourced 100% cotton jersey? here in northern Deustchland I rarely ever find it in stores and online jerseys seem to have a small proportion of elastin or spandex in them. Ah, I wanted to reply to you but instead commented on my own project. If you go to the project page you'll find my reply to your question.

I bought mine here: http://www.purecoverz.nl/Category/92-knits.aspx. I got the white single jersey and dyed it with procion MX dye. They don't have a huge number of different colours, but several are 100% cotton, just take a close look at the details of each fabric, they aren't really ordered in a logical ordered on this page. The fabric held up well with the dyeing and embroidery process. I haven't washed the cardigan very often but so far it is still looking very good. I am going to buy from them again. Shipping to Germany is 9 euros.
