What was your inspiration?

A walk on the beach with a special person, for me it was my two boys. I will always treasure living close to the ocean when my boys were young. We had wonderful long walks on the beach and this cowl/scarf was inspired by two sets of footprints (the two cables on one side of the cowl) in the sand along the edge of the waves (the wave pattern on the other edge of the cowl). The cowl has an open shell pattern on one end that buttons onto shell (what else!) buttons on the other end.

What are you most proud of?

This was the quickest design I have ever come up with. I just love the meaning behind the stitch pattern.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

When you knit this scarf you can't help but think of a time when you went for a walk with someone special to you. It might be on the Atlantic Ocean, it might be along a lake, it might be on a honeymoon in Bermuda. Choose a color that will help you remember that time when you make your scarf/cowl.
