Oh dear! I have just found this free pattern for sale on Ebay UK. One of the 3,000 people who have downloaded it for free, is selling it as their own pattern, with my photo on my dining table, to add insult to injury. How dishonest. The seller, tellingly does not ship outside the UK and does not accept messages either.

And again!!!!!!!!! if you want the hats to be more tapered, cut out some of the non increasing rounds. Not all, unless you want it to be pointy. You do, however want it to fit the baby, and have the correct head circumference. Unless it for a tiny baby. Are you using the recommended yarn and the hook? After you get the 'shallow bowl" (back of the head) you get a straight down hat shape.

I'm having problems understanding (without increasing) at the end of some of the rounds ...does this mean to skip a stitch? I've attempted this, but my hat doesn't taper down as much as shown in the photo. Mine are turning out like a shallow bowl... Very cute so I'd really like to do it properly.

I apologise for my attempts to answer you. but I am have some connectivity problems with my ISP. The rounds that state 'non increasing" mean that you just work every stitch into every round, without doing double stitches in any of them. There are three hat patterns in that free pattern. Depending on the yarn t

The increasing rounds are when you do 2 sts, in one, the non increasing rounds are just 1 st in each st..

I downloaded this pattern for the trio of baby hats. Is this written in USA format? I am a long time crocheter and am having problems with the way the pattern is written and the required materials. For example, one term (ss) which I am thinking means slip stitch (sl st). and I am confused by the 8ply yarn... Can you assist me? Thank you

Yes, ss is slip stitch and 8ply yarn is your DK. I am Australian.
