I love this pattern! I've made a bunch of these for the girls at work. It is such a hit! Doesn't hurt that it only takes a couple hours to make one!

With the beginning stiches...are you meaning to do a foundation row?
Jan 06, 2012   Flag as inappropriate
Nope. You are working 10 dc in the 2nd chain from the hook. This is your first round of dc in the hat.
Jan 03, 2012    Flag as inappropriate

I read you used Lion Brand Amazing yarn. I have this yarn....it's really really thin...I don't think it will look like this - did you use two strands?
Dec 22, 2011   Flag as inappropriate
Hi, Nope, I used 1 strand. It seems thin but works up great!

I love this. The colors are amazing. You didn't mention what kind of yarn you used. What is the name of the color you used. I want mine to be just like this one for a Christmas gift.

How do I convert this pattern to a child size?
Oct 16, 2011    Flag as inappropriate
Heyy. I just started crocheting and this ------> (20 dc) is confusing me. How exactly do I complete this step?
Oct 16, 2011   Flag as inappropriate
the (20 dc) simply states that after working round 2 -->Work 2 dc in each stitch around<---that you should have 20 dc made. I place the stitch count at the end of every row.

Hi, can you tell us what brand of yarn was used. I tried this using Simply Soft Paints and a J hook and it came out alot smaller than the picture - almost child size. Since the yarn I used is ww, I think I need a chunkier yarn. Thanks
Sep 27, 2011   Flag as inappropriate
when you reach the 80 dc, your hat should measure about 26 inches in circumference. If it doesn't, I would suggest moving up to a size K hook (you may crochet tighter than I do). The yarn I used was Lion Brand Amazing.
Nov 04, 2011   Flag as inappropriate
This happened to me as well. The circumference of the final opening was too small. Will try again with a bigger hook.
Jan 18, 2012   Flag as inappropriate
I used an I hook and Simply Soft yarn and my hat is WAY too small as well. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the pattern to make it bigger...
