I used a discontinued vintage pattern for this to get that 70's jumpsuit look. I modified it with the elastic across the back because that's the way they looked then.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
What could be funnier than a 4 year old asking me to make her a vintage 70's outfit? She's a big ABBA fan and was going to a ABBA tribute concert at the South Shore Music Circus with her mom & friends. This was summer 2010. I'll post this year's outfit when I get a chance. She only wore this once but it was worth it. She certainly was all aglitter! These colors are silver & raspberry, very 70's.
What are you most proud of?
It was very appropriate for the occasion. She was a big hit at the concert, she got to go on stage, asked for her autograph, etc. It was a big hit. I do pretty good working with a theme.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The pattern is very basis but the sequined fabric would frustrate a novice. I use the dual feed foot on my sewing machine to sew the seam where I want it and then use that seam line as a guide when running it through the serger. The designs are machine appliqued & embroidered.
