For: Women
Style: Retro / Vintage
Materials
I used a beautiful, light cashmere woven from Janssens & Janssens in Paris, and lined it with an ethically sourced, dyed and woven Thai silk from EmmaOneSock.com.
What was your inspiration?
I love vintage fashion, particularly from the 50s, and thought this pattern from Decades of Style was just great. When I was in Paris, I found this cashmere fabric on the sale table at an upscale fabric store, and had just enough to make the wrap.
What are you most proud of?
That it came out so well and is so unique. It feels great on--warm and light.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I can't say enough about Susan Khalje's Couture Dress course on Craftsy. I took it over the summer and it transformed my sewing technique. I used many of the techniques I learned from Susan on this project.
