Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

cotton fabric and batting!

What was your inspiration?

I started this hand sewn quilt when my daughter was 7 years old-the material is from some of her clothes, it took me so long to get it done I actually have some of the material from her Bridesmaids dresses in it. Was bound and determined to finish it. After 42 years I finally finished it and gave it to her. This is the one and only hand sewn quilt I will ever do. lol

What are you most proud of?

finishing it.

Well done and congratulations on finishing your beautiful quilt. You must be very pleased and proud of your marathon efforts. I have two quilts I have been working on for ten years so maybe there is hope yet that I 'll finish them too!

Amen to you finishing it. That looks like some feat but you did it and your daughter will have it to cherish and to think of all the GREAT memories that have been sewn into it stitch by stitch and by your hands. No one will ever have another like it for sure!

Good for you for finishing it. When you look back now, all that matters is that you finished it. I'm sure it will be passed down for generations with the great story of the "42 year quilt". :)
