What materials did you use? I used cotton worsted weight yarn for these baskets.

What are you most proud of? In all of my designs I aim for versatility. Once you learn how to make these baskets using the pattern, you'll be able to vary them endlessly. There's a full page of variation suggestions right in the pattern. To make these Autumn baskets, I used some of the variations to give you all an idea of what you could easily do. Next up >> Christmas baskets to show some other ideas for shaping and decorating these!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? First off, even if you're a real beginner, these will be fast and easy to make. Everything in the pattern is written out in full sentences without abbreviations so that you can understand everything clearly. Work tightly and take lots of breaks so you don't hurt your hands. Switch over to some lighter knitting or crochet or do something else entirely in between baskets. I'm (unfortunately) an expert on repetitive strain syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome. Please check out my articles on Exercises for Knitters and Ergonomics for Knitters on my website: http://www.KnittingGuru.com to get some useful advice on keeping your hands and wrists healthy. That said, you can actually make each of these baskets in under 1/2 hour, so there's no need to worry about your hands unless you decide to make dozens of them at one sitting!! They're so much fun, it's hard to stop. Think of all the Christmas gifts you'll be making!
