1st quilt with red sashing

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

When doing squares make sure you have a common theme that you can sashing with

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Charity

Style: Whimsical

Materials

All the blocks from the course

What was your inspiration?

To use up material and do something for a cancer charity now that my best friend is suffering from cancer.

What are you most proud of?

That I have completed all the lessons and the quilt looks reasonable. This and the 2nd quilt are quite eclectic and will be quite unique.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose a theme colour wise and then have an idea how you will sash it and put the quilt together.

Thank you all - I have made the sashing 2 inches finished with the cornerstones - have yet to add border etc. Have all the material for this one but need the time to get around to it. Thank you also for your comments about my best friend - she is not at all well with the chemo at the moment but we are all praying for a miracle. Will see her again tomorrow in the hospital. I am sure she can fight this with her friends help and I am praying with God's healing hands. The quilts is just a small thing for the cancer society but it all helps I hope.

Beautiful! I see that you made the sashing probably larger and corner stones, what a great idea. I love it and cannot wait for the second one. Feel good also to give it for a good cause , sorry for your best friend, I hope that she or he will win the battle.
