What are you most proud of? My embroidery is very consistent and the skirt is well constructed and strong.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This type of garment takes along time - buy good quality fabric. This was not and certainly too thick and a bit stiff with not much strech recovery. To use this garment I either have to get fatter or resew the top portion of seams to take it in - so be careful in your pattern making before putting in the hours required to embelish.

Sorry to hear of your fit issues, but your embroidery and color combination are to die for. Hopefully your efforts to resew will be successful. If the waist opening is the issue, do you think it possible that a drawstring waist could be added? Or would the skirt body still be too full? Just an idea, it's such a lovely skirt that I hate to see you disappointed with the fit.

Hi SBL11 ... I am not currently making any effor to resew as the skirt is wearable, I gathered in the waist a little when I inserted the elastic. I am not sure I want to put in anymore time as the fabric is not very good quality.

I can't really tell in the pic, but it looks like you might have made a casing for the elastic. If that's the case, you could probably just stitch a couple of simple buttonholes to the front and thread a drawstring thru the existing casing. But I do understand your feeling to just leave it be at this point, we've all been there with a project. It's a beautiful piece, your design and stitching are wonderful and I hope you find a way to enjoy and proudly display your work.
