When I made the original X's and O's quilt, I sewed a double line on the corners to create not only the classic shape, but also left me with 2 half square triangles per block. These were squared up and made into the pinwheel quilt.Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Functional
For: Charity
Style: Classic
Materials
Many batik fat quarters cut into 9" squares which left a 4 x 18" strip per fat quarter. The strips I sewed into diagonal bias binding.
What was your inspiration?
Thanks to Jenny Doan for the great pattern. I so enjoyed taking Quilting Quickly I and II, and am eagerly awaiting III and IV.
What are you most proud of?
That I pieced it and then also quilted it myself.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make sure you square up your half square triangles before you put them into pinwheels.
