Description

So soft and cozy, this cowl begins at the top with a tubular cast-on for k2 x p2 rib. The ribbing then flows into a lace pattern that spreads to cover the shoulders. Find video instruction for this pattern in New Beginnings With the Magic Cast-On with Lorilee Beltman.

Materials Needed

Yarn: Cloudborn Baby Alpaca Bulky Yarn (100% baby alpaca, 3.5 oz/100 g = 109 yds/100 m), 2 (3, 3) skeins. Pictured in color Sky Blue.
Needles: Circular needles size US 10 (6.0 mm) or size needed for gauge. NOTE: For the cast-on, start with a circular needle 40" long, or begin with two needles so all stitches fit. For the "requeueing" step, use a 24" circular needle. The rest of the cowl can be comfortably worked on that 24" needle.
Gauge: 14 stitches and 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
