Great Class for Creative Dress Construction Techniques

I'm really puzzled by the negative reviews of this class. I love it! Sara shares a great technique for finishing lace seams, along with many other useful tips along the way. I've enrolled in a lot of classes, and I definitely learned new things from this one. It's not a class for beginners, but it's great for intermediate sewers looking to branch out with fabrics and prints.

Courage to Design

I am not a designer, but this class pushed me out of my comfort zone, growing from beginner home seamstress to intermediate sewer/beginner designer. Sorry, no substance.

I wish I had read some reviews before I signed up for this class. I may return it. As others have said the instructor skips MAJOR steps in construction demonstration.

The raw edges and the too low back, on the dress are also a turn off, but those can be rectified, thankfully.

My First Crafty Class...

Ok, so I have watched all the videos but haven't received my pattern so here are my thoughts. I can see why people may be upset about this class. It expects that you can follow the directions of the pattern on your own to complete this dress. Sarah gives you some tips along the way but the real reason I bought this was for the last couple of videos. The variations in the pattern that aren't always easy to figure out on your own, the lace option and cutting on the bias. Between the downloads ...

Very few tips shared...

I agree with the other reviews on there being not enough detail and a LOT of skips over the actual garment sewing. Sara only explained what needed to be done. (The pattern envelope already does this.) If you know how to sew french seams then you know how to do the petticoat and how to use the french seams and use ribbon to encase lace edges (i.e. the floral and lace dresses). And for the bias design dress, if you know how to flip pattern pieces you can do the skirt bias design. The only ...
