Susan Khalje

Couturière and author Susan Khalje received her professional training at a New York couture salon and worked as a fashion designer and manufacturing supervisor on Seventh Avenue. The author of two books on fine garment sewing, "Linen and Cotton" and "Bridal Couture," Susan established The Couture Sewing School in 1993 to teach fine sewing techniques across the country. She annually takes a group of students to Paris for an insider's look at the couture arts. Susan, who lives and works in Baltimore, has been honored with the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals' Lifetime Achievement Award.
