Cotton Tea Towels II

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The speed in this project is much faster -so more enjoyable while the quality has greatly improved What advice would you give someone starting this project? To consider the first time a practice run and go slowly from start to finish --and the second time will move more quickly and be more satisfying overall....I also think with the 4/4 cotton(4 ply) that wet finishing it with very hot water, agitation and drying in the dryer initially firms up the cloth as opposed to my first ones in which I used warm water, hand agitated and air dried. Doing a few samples using different wash techniques would have given me better information at the onset.

What you will need

  • Peaches & Creme (Pisgah Yarn and Dyeing) Made in USA 4/4 100% Cotton #193 Gettysburg; #930HC Variegated Lily Sugar'n Cream (Made in Canada) Light Blue

pekingduk asked:
These colors are super together! It me, it seems to have a water color feel. Nice!
jollyjeanne@yahoo.com answered:
Thank you. Using a variegated cotton in different elements of your warp/and or weft yields lovely effects but too much everywhere can be just that ....too much. I think it is fun with the RH to have an easy weave and play around with design using color.
