Q&A with Jill from Montana

Amy Alan asked:
I'm sorry to hear that the zipper got caught in your serger. Next time, you can cut off the excess zipper tape so that it doesn't get jammed in the blades. I'm surprised your Hobbylock didn't like that- the older models are usually really great little workhorses that will take on anything! Regardless, it's still a really cute bag (made out of hilarious fabric). Nicely done!
Jill from Montana answered:
Thanks Amy...the repair shop said that I apparantly had a needle strike or something like that , which threw everything off kilter with my serger. $100.00 later.... Lesson learned the hard way and I will only insert zippers with my regular machine and not the serger. And I was going so careful and slow.. Turned out to be a very expensive class for me....sigh *

I agree with the zipper, had also a hard time to serge over it and decided to use my conventional machine. I love the fabric you used.

I apparantly had a needle stike and threw everything off kitler with my machine. $100.00 later I ma back in business again and have my serger out of the repair shop. Lesson learned big time.......only going to use my regular sewing machine for anything involving a zipper. And I was being soooooo careful. This was a very expensive class.sniff sniff.
