Z Z Tote

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Using up my ugliest fabric . . . pinkish red brocade and a sunny yellow cotton print? Well, I guess it worked out well enough I'd be glad to wear this one in public. Actually the tote is really big. I quilted both the exterior fabric and interior fabric and the tote is super-duper padded now--just right for hauling my laptop, cords, and headphones. Nifty, and thrifty. By the way, check out the last photo--I turned the tote inside out so you could see the inside pocket. This tote is totally reversible! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Let me know how you like the zig-zag free motion quilting technique. It was a good experiment, and a great project for using up colorful half-spools of thread from previous projects.

What you will need

  • Zig-Zag Free Motion Quilting Technique . . . made it up as I went along. I figured if I could use a straight stitch to free motion quilt
  • why not try a zig-zag stitch? It worked . . . it worked. It's fun
