What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The concept is good but if you have this magazine, scale it down and use Brett's techniques for a better final product.
What you will need
The exterior is an upholstery fabric and contrasting twill. The interior is linen in two colours. I used a pattern from the new Threads Handbags magazine and I knew at the get-go that it would be large but in fact it is huge. When it is unfolded
I can hardly reach the bottom of the bag. Granted I am only 4'10" but still
this is really big. I decided to make up this one to the pattern and found the instructions quite poor. I should have just used the techniques from the class. I did use the strap techniques I learned from Brett. Inserted hard bottom and feet. I used a giant zipper which suits the bag. I left the top handles off but should have added them as the front is quite plain and the handles would have improved that.
Q&A with cucperson
Very nice! Love the fabric!
Why thank you! I happy that is is pretty but is sure is BIG. I want to try a curved top one with a zipper.
