Yoga pants

I made these yoga pants with a fantastic jersey that's made from 53% hemp, 43% organic cotton and 4% lycra. At a weight of8.2 oz, it's a bit on the heavy side, but I wanted to make sure my underwear would not show through and, most importantly, that my my lumps and bumps would be hidden! It fit the bill perfectly in that respect! I must say that I was afraid before starting that the pattern would not fit me well, as I have a belly that's protruding and I always have a hard time finding pants that I like. I have been very pleasantly surprised as they don't accentuate my 'overweight-edness'. I made an extra-large, but I might have fit into a large. I'll try shorts next time in the large size. They are super comfy, they breathe well, I love them! I wear them all the time and I will be wearing them to the 'Lole White Tour' in Montreal in a couple of weeks! On the technical side, as I am a fairly new sewist, I had a few little challenges with the jersey, as I don't have a walking foot and cannot afford one right now. It's in the plan though! I resorted to a double-faced tape that dissolves in the wash for some of the seams and that worked like a breeze. Finding the right adjustment for the pressure of the presser foot was a little tricky, but I managed. All in all, I know that there are a couple little imperfections, but it doesn't show. Like Meg says, knits are forgiving!
