What are you most proud of? I thought it was going to take me a long time to hem all the napkins and table toppers, but using my serger (which I had hardly ever used) made it so quick and easy. A friend, who works for Bernina, told me they call sergers the microwave of sewing and now I know why. This gave me more time for other wedding projects. Then, at the reception they just POPPED and made the tables look so inviting and festive. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt on the newlyweds bed in a few months! What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you are going to use the fabric for something after the wedding, go ahead and invest in quality fabric. Buy enough and maybe a little extra in case some gets stained. Then when cutting a bunch of big squares--DON"T cut! RIP and press before serging! It worked great--things were on the straight of the grain and all extra treads were sliced off with the serger.
