Vintage Tote Bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The fun leather straps that I found that have cute flowers on them. I don't like metal hardware on purses so I was delighted to find the straps at a quilting store. The best thing I learned from the project is to use woven interfacing as opposed to non-woven interfacing. I'd always used non-woven interfacing before and felt that the bags looked too amateurish. The woven bag gives the material a smoother more professional finish. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is an easy bag to make and the instructor's directions are clear. Use high quality woven interfacing. I put a second plastic bottom on the inside of the bag to hold the lining down. I covered the second plastic bottom with fabric.

What you will need
