Upcycled Linen Shoulder Bag

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Leslie Bag Link to website or photo www.ithinksew.com What are you most proud of? With this pattern I decided to cut a "blank" front out of some scrap suiting fabric and sew the linen with a decorative patchwork stitch. The front pocket placement worked out with the tab closure, and the back has the lapel pocket that can be used for cell phone storage.

What you will need

  • goodwill woman's 100% linen jacket

Q&A with Lesley Stein

Shoestring asked:
Oops, lost my first try at leaving you a message. Nonethless I don't mind retyping it again to tell you this is one genius, awsome bag. I love how your mind works, re-using the linen jacket and especially genius is using the welted pocket from the jacket on the front of the bag. Love it, love it. Would you like to come visit my studio and old Victorian? I'd love to welcome you as a guest anytime!
Lesley Stein answered:
Thank you for the invitation! I don't get much time to get away (kids, school, etc), but I feel blessed by your comment. I have a few more coats to de-construct, and your comment has fueled my ambition to get back at it. Have a lovely day!!
