Travel Duffle Scrappy Style

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The zippers! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Read the directions all the way through (you should do that with all instructions.) It's not as difficult as it looks, but it is time consuming of you do it the scrappy way. If you want to get it done faster, use pre-quilted fabric or quilt your main piece of fabric like the directions. You can also substitute the jute webbing with 2" twill tape sewn together side by side.

What you will need

  • Leftover scraps of 100% cotton quilting fabric. My goal was to use up the scraps of various black/white/red fabrics from recent projects. I did have to purchase lining fabric
  • jute webbing
  • and zippers (thank goodness for 40% off coupons at JoAnns!)

Q&A with sewcynful

Cherie Killilea asked:
Love the patchwork. I wish I had time to do more of it myself. I wish you many happy travels with your beautiful bag! Thanks for posting it here for all to see.
sewcynful answered:
Thanks, Cherie! I love the size! I love that I got to use up so many of my scraps! Does the jute smell ever go away?
