The Ultimate Paisley T!

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The inside is as good as the outside. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This was my first knit project. In the intro, Katherine and Marcy advise that you'll make three or four T's before you get good at it, and they are right! get some cheap knit, practice your skills until you're solid, and then use your nicer fabrics. Now I feel confident to try other knit styles including a shirt-dress and wrap dress.

What you will need

  • Silk jersey knit by Ralph Lauren
  • from Mood Fabrics

Q&A with KimG924

Larri M asked:
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Great job on this Paisley T. I bet you get compliments every time you wear it. Excellent job!
KimG924 answered:
Thanks! I'm always a little shy about telling anyone that I made what I'm wearing. :-)
Kristina.OR asked:
Love your fabric. And I understand completely the five prototypes! Looks like you got it right.
KimG924 answered:
thanks! I'm prototyping knit wrap dresses now...
kristaenglish asked:
Did you need a serger for this class?
KimG924 answered:
No, not at all. A serger is a nice-to-have, like a Kitchenaid mixer; you don't need one, but they make some things easier. Most knits won't ravel, so you can stitch and press your seams and forget about it. If you're fussy (like me) and want all your seams to be finished, you can zigzag and trim, or use an overcast foot/stitch if your machine has one.
