Project Description

What are you most proud of? Finally using a double-needle! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice on scraps of fabric so you'll know what stitches work best on your project. A little extra time in the beginning is well worth the benefits you see later on.

What you will need

  • Poly/Lycra knit

Q&A with Mhval

Pat Mitchell asked:
Very nice, pockets are interesting. Is it a pattern? Your stitching looks great!
Mhval answered:
It is Katherine Tilton Butterick 5925. Very comfy to wear and I love pockets. Thanks for your comments.
JeanneLongo asked:
Love the pockets! I would wear that to work all day long and stick my phone in one of those pockets (I am a teacher) I love pockets!
Mhval answered:
Thanks! I used to be a teacher, too, maybe that's where I picked up my love of pockets!!
quilterinpr asked:
You mention using 2 needles, did you do thia on a regular sewing maching or did you use a serger? Love how it turned out!
Mhval answered:
Thanks so much for your comment! To answer your question, I used a twin needle on my regular machine. If you are not familiar with twin needles, they are 2 needles attached to 1 shank. You attach them to your machine just as you would for a regular needle. They come in different sizes & widths. They are easy to use & make a nice hem finish if you do not have a cover stitch machine.
