Sweatshirt Fleece Hoodie

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The double needle stitching is cool. The fits me and feels good. I will actually wear it! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try Meg's class if you are interested in sewing knits. She gives you all the basics.

What you will need

  • Teal sweatshirt fleece--very nice to the touch
  • cozy. I added a pocket to the front. Pattern in Meg McElwee's class
  • Sewing with Knits
  • on Craftsy.

Q&A with Homeheart

needler3 asked:
Love the colour and your added pouch pockets. I would like to make this with a cowl neck but otherwise just the same!
Homeheart answered:
Thank you. I like your cowl neck idea. Maybe I will try that next time, because I really don't wear the hood.
hopgal asked:
Good job! I love the pocket.
Homeheart answered:
Thank you.
sewittoday asked:
beautiful job and the color is yummy.
Homeheart answered:
Thank you. I'm thinking of making another in orange.
kathleenk1979171 asked:
What pattern or instructions di you use to add the pouch pockets?
Homeheart answered:
I drew the front pocket to fit the front pattern piece, but a pocket piece could be borrowed from another pattern. Either way would be good. I used the double-needle to sew it on.
DebbieAnnC asked:
Love that pocket idea!!was that discussed or totally your own adaptation
Homeheart answered:
I added the pocket. A few years ago, I made lots of t-shirt and hoodie refashions for my teenage girls. You need to experiment on paper and try out on cheap fabric. Lots of ideas on line too.
