Project

Sully's Book Bag

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I like how the vibrant colors really work with the front patch. I only had enough of that to make a pocket, so had to improvise the rest. And, I made the whole thing from two fact quarters and a bunch of scraps! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be creative and let your own tastes and the intended recipient guide you on fabric choices.

What you will need

  • All cotton fabric and thread

Q&A with Stitching Times

sistertammie asked:
this is wonderful, did he like it?
Stitching Times answered:
His birthday is next week, so I'll let you know! I also included a couple of Little Golden Books.
VicMansfield asked:
It makes me so happy to have helped with some inspiration - I love it and I'm sure he will too!! I would love to know how you did the lettering it looks great?? You know Isaac is also using his as a pillow case he loves it so much!! :)
Stitching Times answered:
I just drew the letters on with a paint marker and then sewed over the lines with a wide satin stitch on my machine. If you look closely you can see that they stitching is pretty "rustic", but I figured it would look OK for a rough and tumble boy. By the way, I backed the title patch with heavy duty iron-on interfacing, and that made it much easier to stitch.
