Sewing Machine Mat Organizer with Pocket

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Free Sewing Machine Mat Pattern Link to website or photo katiesquiltingcorner.com/2012/02/free-sewing-machine-mat-tutorial.html What are you most proud of? Realizing I could save so much time buying pretty pre-quilted fabric! I always wondered what people used it for and now I know it's for projects like this. What advice would you give someone starting this project? When purchasing pre-quilted fabric use a coupon! It is waaaay too expensive trying to buy it at the regular price (normally $19.99) so use a 50% off coupon and get a yard for $10. You can make two or three mats and even sell one to your friends! Some people prefer to just fold up the bottom portion where the pocket goes so you don't have to put binding all the way around. It may also be a good idea to put some non-skid cabinet liner on the bottom of the mat to keep it from moving around when you lift up your sewing machine.

You Can Make This

Katie Ringo made Sewing Machine Mat Organizer with Pocket with:

  • Pre-quilted fabric (1 yard will yield a few mats depending on the size of your machine)
  • double fold binding to match
  • sewing thread.
