ruffled skirt

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Project Pattern Link to website or photo alisaburke.blogspot.com/2010/03/petticoat-tutorial.html What are you most proud of? That I was just able to finish it. Lol. I worked on this skirt for probably about 10 hrs (taking little brakes here and there) and at about 9p.m. I got it finished. Happy that I finally finished making my skirt I ran to my room to try it on and to my horror it wouldn't go past my butt!!!(I seriously almost cried, lol.) Trying to think of what I did wrong, I realized that I had measured my waist, but forgot about my hips!!! So I had to take the sides apart, cut a little and add a little...sewed it up again and then a few of my ruffles got caught in the seam. So I had to take the sides out again and sew it up again and this time it FINALLY worked (third time's the charm, right?) I was up pretty late that night, but I'm very proud of my skirt and had a lot of fun making it. :) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you measure your waist AND your hips. Hahaha.
