Q&A with astrangerview

Amy Alan asked:
It's gorgeous, Silvia! You chose beautiful autumn colors and your rolled hem stitch looks perfect.
astrangerview answered:
Thanks Amy, and I'm really wearing it at home. I always wanted an apron.
Mary T. Phelan asked:
OMG...just too damn cute for an apron...put on a cute top, high heels and go out!
astrangerview answered:
tks Mary! :) i would if it had a back.. ha! maybe i'll make a skirt version of it..
lovessewing asked:
I love this and your waistband looks amazing. Please would you share how you did that? I want to make one as a gift for my mom and this looks so elegant.
astrangerview answered:
Thank you lovessewing. If I remember right I just added a piece the width of the apron (from one side to the other) plus 1" for SA x 4" high, in addition to the two ties that Amy already had it on the project. Then, folded in half lengthwise right side out I serged the raw edges with right side together to the top of apron (making sure I had my 1/2" SA pressed to the inside). Then I machine straight stitched the ties inside the band and top stitched 1/8" away from the band at the top (on the first ruffle) so the serged SA wouldn't flip up. I hope I explained okay.. It's been a while, but I think I remember everything. :) good luck!
